Make the Industrial Strategy Advisory Council a Statutory Body
Reform the ISAC into a statutory body with legal powers to enforce and coordinate skills, energy, infrastructure, and innovation across key sectors, and lead a unified public–private industrial roadmapping process with leading industrial experts with updates to drive long-term economic growth.
While we welcome the Government’s new Industrial Strategy (2025) and its identification of key growth sectors, we think effective delivery requires stronger governance, clearer sectoral focus, and long-term coordination across skills, energy, infrastructure, and innovation policy. We think a reformed ISAC must be empowered and have interdepartmental support to provide that as compared with Japan's Ministry of International Trade and Industry.
