The EHCP System is Failing Our Children.The system is broken and needs to change
Delays: Many families wait months — even years beyond the legal 20-week deadline.
• Unlawful rejections: Councils routinely deny EHCP applications with little justification.
• Poor implementation: Even with a plan, children often don’t receive the help they were promised.
Mental health toll: The stress and emotional trauma of constantly fighting the system is breaking parents — and damaging children’s wellbeing.
• Legal battles: Thousands of families are forced to take their councils to tribunal just to access their child’s legal rights.
