Gingerism - make it illegal
Growing up as a child, with Red hair I can relate to how different, smaller minority groups felt when subjected to racial, sexist, disabled or homophobic slurs.
Slowly, over the past 20 years, prejudice against skin colour, sexual preference, gender, disability etc have slowly become non politically correct or even illegal, whether defined as a hate crime or discrimination.
How then, in this day and age is it still okay for people with Red hair to be targeted and ridiculed?
Over the years I have been the subject of many names, Duracell, Carrott Top, Ginger Minger, FOT, Ranga, Match Head, etc .... I could go on forever!
In a way you've left it open so we are the last form of people to be openly ridiculed lawfully.
I would like to ask the home office to consider the above, making the abuse of people with Red hair illegal, classifying it either as discrimination, racism or general harassment. This is a serious matter with documented cases of hate crime.
