Require Parliament’s vote & an impact assessment on the UK-US trade deal
We are concerned the UK-US trade deal could be implemented without a vote, consultation or impact assessment. We believe it affects food, farming, health, and data standards. We believe Parliament must be allowed to assess its consequences and vote before any further changes are made.
The UK–US Economic Prosperity Agreement was signed using prerogative powers and may be implemented without parliamentary approval. We are concerned as it may affect food safety, farming, public procurement, digital rules, and citizens’ rights. We are concerned about the deal’s impact on the EU–UK TCA and devolved powers. Some polls show strong public opposition to lowering standards. We believe Parliament must be given a vote and a full impact assessment must be published before implementation.
