Stop ex-pats whingeing about not getting winter fuel allowance
I would like the government to take action to persuade Britons living abroad to stop complaining that they don't receive Winter Fuel Allowance.
Each year there are petitions, articles and social media messages raised by these people saying how unfair it is that they don't receive the allowance. As well as annoying the rest of us this must waste a great deal of time and money for the relevant government department.
Maybe if it were pointed out to them (say by a well publicised general message) that since they are not economically active in the UK their day to day purchases bring no benefit to our society so they should not expect the same rewards, and that if they really miss £200 per year so much then perhaps they shouldn't have retired, it might persuade them to pursue some other less self-interested cause?
You can't sign this petition because it is now closed. But you can still comment on it here at Repetition.me!
