Make animal torture a crime with mandatory prison terms&tech firm responsibility
Create laws with strict jail sentences for animal torture. Force tech platforms to remove/report abuse videos. Ban abusers from adopting or owning animals. Set up a task force to investigate and prosecute those involved in animal torture networks, including online.
Animal torture networks are operating in the UK, posting videos of kittens and cats being tortured and killed. Loopholes mean abusers often walk free. This content is spreading on social media. Over 70% of violent offenders start by abusing animals. Without tougher laws and real tech accountability, more animals and people will suffer. Urgent action will save lives and stop this evil at its source.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Animal abuse is already a crime which can result in prison sentences. In England, the relevant legislation is contained in the Animal Welfare Act 2006 and the Animal Welfare (Sentencing) Act 2021. Social media companies are also already responsible for removing animal cruelty content, as set out in the Online Safety Act.
You may wish to start a new petition asking for a new taskforce to be created to help tackle animal abuse content online.
