I am haunted by the fact that the neighbours of Said and Cherif Kouachi, the perpetrators of The Charlie Hebdo massacre knew the brothers had arms in their flat, but were too scared/bullied/lacking in French to warn anyone.
I would like the government to set up a "Peaceline", along the lines of Childline and Silverline, which people can call if they have any information about anything or anybody which they may feel could be a threat to anyone's safety.
Sometimes people are too afraid to contact the police directly, also the police require "statements" which can be off-putting. I would like Peaceline to offer a more friendly way of reporting anything suspicious. It should be widely advertised on television and ordinary peace loving muslims and others should be encouraged to pass on any information they have.
I would like the phone number to be some combination of 505 = SOS = Save our Society. Indeed 505 could be Europe wide - against Isis, Eta & IRA
