Hold the government accountable for the growing rise of anti-lgbt hate crime.
We want to government to apply tighter regulations regarding policies they choose to pass. Throughout recent years the government has continued to pass and affirm policy that aims to erase and attack the existence and basic human rights of lgbt individuals. ("transmisia" = anti-trans hostility)
Statistics from recent years, which are increasing as anti-lgbt attitudes rise.
"In 2020/2021, 2,630 Hate Crimes against transgender people were recorded by the Police, an increase of 16% from the year prior (Home Office, 2021). This number is still severely underreported" // "LGBT Hate Crime reports have 'tripled in the last 3 years and in 2020/2021 over 17,135 LGBT people reported they were the victims of hate crimes to police" (StopTheHateUK.Org)
(SEE: transmisia - anti-trans hostility)

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do.
You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do, such as reviewing a particular policy or changing a specific law.
