National Insurance Number Verification for over 16 Accessing Free NHS Healthcare
Government and the National Health Service (NHS) implement a mandatory verification of National Insurance (NI) numbers for all individuals over the age of 16 before they are provided with free healthcare services. To ensure that NHS resources are primarily utilized by those who are entitled to them.
To safeguard the NHS, which is funded by UK taxpayers, a mandatory check of National Insurance numbers for non-emergency healthcare is proposed. This ensures resources are used fairly and responsibly by those entitled to them. While upholding the universal right to emergency care, this simple verification process would help maintain the integrity and financial sustainability of the NHS for the benefit of all contributors.
