Petition Action

RSPCA Should be subject to freedom of information when reports of neglect are not upheld and there is reason to believe malicious intent.

Additional Information

The Rspca frequently carry out visits to private property after recieving concerns from anyone regarding animal welfare. This can and does ensure that anyone with malitious intent can use the charity to cause stress and loss to animal owners who are innocent of any wrongdoing. This petition seeks to change the exemption from the freedom of information act which allows the charity to withhold details of who has contacted them to instigate such visits when there are reasonable grounds to believe that such contact has been to use the charity for anything other than animal welfare.
