Review barriers & fund accessibility pathway for M.E & Chronic Illness patients
We would like the government to work with people with Myalgic Encephalomyelitis, and those with similar levels of chronic illness, to identify the barriers to accessing healthcare.
These barriers then need to be addressed formally through options already available and written guidance issued for NHS staff.
I am unable to access many elements of healthcare as a result of having Myalgic Encephalomyelitis. I cannot attend cervical smear tests or blood tests. Accessibility for A&E is impossible as I cannot sit upright for lengthy periods of time. There are currently no written accessibility guidelines for people with long term chronic illness, which prevents healthcare staff from adapting practices and procedures to make healthcare accessible specifically for those with chronic illness.
If you want to sign this petition (as opposed to merely discuss it), you need to do that on the government's e-Petitions website.
