Petition Action

Fund Fencing and Bridges to Protect Animals and Drivers on UK Countryside Roads

Petition Details

We call on the Government to:
1. Allocate funding for fencing and monitoring in high-risk areas.
2. Support the construction of wildlife bridges and tunnels to provide safe crossing points.
3. Work with local councils, conservation groups, and highways authorities to identify priority locations.

Additional Information

Every year, tens of thousands of deer and other wild animals are killed on UK roads, with an estimated 40,000–74,000 deer collisions annually. These crashes cause not only severe animal suffering but also human injuries, fatalities, and millions of pounds in damage and insurance costs.
