Make it illegal to remove, destroy or deface the Union Jack or UK national flags
Make it a specific offence to remove, burn, destroy or deface the Union Jack or the national flags of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
These flags represent our shared history, culture and identity. They are important symbols of unity and pride. Damaging them can currently be treated as criminal damage, but a dedicated law would give them the respect and protection they deserve.
