Introduce Penalties for Disrespecting or Damaging the British National Flag
We call upon the relevant authorities to introduce clear legal penalties for any deliberate act of disrespect, desecration, or intentional damage to the British national flag, known as the Union Jack.
The Union Jack is more than a piece of fabric — it represents the United Kingdom’s shared history, values, and unity. Acts of vandalism or public disrespect toward the flag diminish national pride and dignity. Like many nations, the UK should formally recognise the importance of its symbols and adopt legal measures to protect them from deliberate harm. We urge Parliament to pass legislation that defends the flag’s honour and significance.
