Doorstep callers ignoring "No Callers Please" notices
Make it an offence for doorstep callers such as sales staff and charity collectors to ignore notices saying (such as) "No Callers Please".
These notices are placed on doors or adjacent windows by people who do not want sales/charity staff to knock on their doors.
They are widely and routinely ignored by charity fundraisers in particular.
These notices are important for people such as those with learning difficulties who may not feel able to say no, the frail or those with disabilities who have difficulties getting to the door, people with mental health problems who are afraid or intimidated by callers.... vulnerable groups
The notices are often given out by Local Authorities specifically to help defend these vulnerable groups but which they have no authority to enforce... effectively a waste of public funds.
