Petition Action

Require an election if 70% of the government manifesto isn’t delivered

Petition Details

Create a law requiring governments to deliver at least 70% of their clear, measurable manifesto pledges within a Parliament. If they fail, a general election must be triggered, with delivery independently verified.

Additional Information

Manifestos are the basis on which voters choose who to elect, yet we think many promises are broken once in power. This undermines trust in democracy and leaves voters powerless until the next election. A 70% threshold, independently verified, would ensure accountability and restore faith that promises made during campaigns must be kept.
