Petition Action

Introduce a secure, government-backed Digital ID system

Petition Details

We, the undersigned, call upon His Majesty’s Government to introduce a secure, government-backed Digital ID system, available on smartphones and other devices, to modernise the way UK citizens prove their identity and access services.

Additional Information

A secure Digital ID would modernise the UK, cut fraud, and protect taxpayers’ money. Countries like the Netherlands and Estonia link IDs to banking, licences, and healthcare with great success. It increases security, reduces costs, and makes life easier—while ensuring citizens stay in control of their data, not “Big Brother.”
