Allow Digital ID to be stored in all native mobile wallets

Petition Details

The Government is planning on introducing a gov.uk digital wallet. We believe that allowing the Government's proposed Digital ID to be stored in alternative wallets to a gov.uk wallet will help with public confidence and prove it can't be about tracking.

Additional Information

We use mobile wallets for contactless payments, flights, events, and even public transport. The UK Government faces backlash, as we believe that they have not publicly shown that this isn’t a breach of public privacy. To increase public trust, the Government could choose to integrate its Digital ID into native mobile wallets, which we believe would instantly solve any usability issues whilst proving that this can't be about tracking people by design, giving much-needed reassurance to the public.
