Require legislation to prevent misuse of any future digital ID system
Should digital ID be introduced, Parliament must pass primary legislation to ban social-credit/behaviour scoring, prevent any CBDC link that controls access to money, forbid restrictions on travel or purchases by carbon or person metrics and bar mandatory ID for essential services without new Acts.
Digital ID may have benefits, but without clear legal safeguards it risks enabling intrusive forms of state or corporate control. Primary legislation is needed to guarantee that any digital ID system cannot be used in ways that undermine fundamental rights, financial freedom or free movement.
