We want the Government to issue national guidance to local authorities to ensure fair and consistent burial charges across the country and remove “non-resident” surcharges.

Additional Information

We call on the Government to issue guidance to local authorities to make burial fees fair and consistent. Families already grieving face a postcode lottery. It is especially unfair when lifelong residents who move boroughs for care are charged more. At such a difficult time, people deserve dignity, fairness, and compassion.
