make politicians legally responsible for under funding health services
In situations where hospitals and healthcare staff are being prosecuted for incidents that have occurred within the NHS, If the incident is related to there being issues with under staffing, over working or under funding in any way, then the person who made the decision to reduce funding to a level that may have contributed to the incident occurring should face prosecution for that decision.
It's unacceptable that we allow politicians and the media to blame staff at hospitals for incidents that may well have been avoided had there been funding enough to provide adequate staffing levels; which is something the staff themselves have no control over, but the politicians do.
We don't need more legislation and auditing to fix the NHS, we need the people who are allowed to cut funding to be held accountable, so that in future they consider the consequences of their actions.
