Raise Wages for Domiciliary and Community Care Workers in the UK
Despite the essential nature of our role, care workers are still among the lowest paid. Many of us are earning minimum wage while taking on responsibilities that are physically and emotionally demanding. We provide frontline, life-changing support, yet we are not treated or paid as professionals.
Increase the minimum wage specifically for domiciliary and community care workers;
Recognise care work as a professional, skilled role;
Set a national standard for care worker pay that reflects the value and responsibility of the job.
It’s time to value care—and the people who provide it Care work is not low-skilled—it requires training, compassion, patience, and resilience. We play a vital role in keeping people safe, well, and independent at home. This should be recognised with fair pay.
