Petition to reverse their decision to follow through with digital IDs

Petition Details

I want the government to reverse their decision on the ‘Do not introduce digital IDs’ petition and to make government policy that they will not move forward with digital identification and they will not attempt again with digital IDs

Additional Information

The petition to end digital IDs got 2.8 million votes it’s undemocratic for the government to see this and carry on with the policy which was not mentioned in their manifesto during the 2024 general election digital and other similar schemes have failed with the Brit card being repealed in 2011 and Churchill himself calling national identity cards unbrittish

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

There's already a petition about this issue. We cannot accept a new petition when we already have one about a very similar issue.

You are more likely to get action on this issue if you sign and share a single petition.

The core ask of this petition is the same as an existing petition: "Do not introduce Digital ID cards" petition.parliament.uk/petitions/730194
