Petition Action

Stop income tax on employees' tips in hospitality industry

Petition Details

Tips help an industry already on its knees, desperately trying to keep staff willing to work in hospitality after the fallout of Covid and Brexit. Tips help small businesses keep hardworking teams employed when they can't afford to raise their wages due to spiralling costs and economic climate.

Additional Information

Hospitality is a hard industry which many people couldn’t cope working in. We call for the Government to allow for some spontaneous gratuity of one human to another without a punishing tax that proportionally raises very little for the public purse yet is very detrimental to the hospitality industry and its workers.
