Petition Action

Stop Restricting The Right To Protest

Petition Details

We want the government to stop attacking innocent people. People who just want a voice and actually focus on the real issues, going on in the country and globally.

To silence protests is to silence the people of this country.

Additional Information

The government is silencing the voice of the public. They want to restrict the rights to protest which completely destroys the point of protesting.

The whole point of a protests is for it to be peaceful but make a point. Restricting where a protest can be and giving the police the ability to stop a protest happing in a specific public area would be an attack on the rights of the people in the United Kingdom

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action. We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do.

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.

Or you may wish to sign this petition: "Repeal the Public Order Act 2023 & Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Act 2022" petition.parliament.uk/petitions/734380
