Petition Details

Reform benefits so 80% is vouchers for UK-farmed fresh food in government shops and 20% cash. No alcohol or cigarettes. Boosts farmers, improves health, cuts NHS costs, keeps money in the UK, and adds free off-peak bus passes to support work and reduce isolation.

Additional Information

To understand:
•Farmers win with guaranteed direct sales (this would bring down inflation on food)
•Families win with healthier food and reduced costs. (Additionally, children would have food at home as the voucher system would remove the option of purchasing non essential items)
•The NHS wins with lower demand from preventable illnesses.
•The economy wins by keeping money circulating within the UK.
•Less food poverty homes
•Communities win with fairer, more responsible use of benefits.

We understand that you want to see the introduction of a voucher system for benefits, but we're not exactly sure how you'd like that system to work. For example, we're not sure what benefits you'd like it to replace, or what you mean by "government shops".

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you'd like the Government and Parliament to do.
