Petition Action

Remove Regulation 4(8) of the Police (Conduct) Regulations 2020

Petition Details

Amend the Police (Conduct) Regulations 2020 so that misconduct proceedings can be brought against any former police officer, regardless of when they left the service. We believe the current cut-off date of 15 December 2017 unfairly prevents accountability for past abuse and corruption.

Additional Information

Survivors of police abuse and grooming are denied justice because officers who left before 15 December 2017 cannot face misconduct hearings. We feel This protects perpetrators instead of victims and damages public trust in policing. All officers, past and present, must be accountable for their actions — no one should be above the law.
