Fund review of access & use of Naltrexone for alcohol dependence & chronic pain
We want Government to fund a review into wider access to low-dose Naltrexone for Alcohol Dependence and as a treatment for chronic pain. Studies have shown it’s cost-effective, NICE-approved for alcohol dependency, and it could help reduce NHS strain.
We think wider access could help save lives and public money—act now to remove barriers.
We think low-dose naltrexone can help manage chronic pain and addiction, offering a safer, non-opioid option. Alcohol and drug misuse cost the UK over £32 billion annually. Drug treatment yields £4–£21 return per £1 spent. Expanding access could save NHS and social care budgets. Fair access is a public health and economic priority.
