Stop the proposed extension of public opening hours under the Licensing Act 2003

Petition Details

We call on the Government to abandon plans to extend the permitted opening hours of licensed premises under the Licensing Act 2003.

Additional Information

There are concerns that longer hours for pubs, bars and clubs could increase late-night noise and disturbance for nearby residents; heighten the risk of vandalism and rowdy behaviour; place further pressure on police and hospital services; and damage the broader economy through increased absenteeism and reduced productivity among working people.

We therefore urge the Government to maintain the existing licensing limits in the interests of public order, community wellbeing and economic stability.
