Petition Action

Review enforcement of Section 132 of the Highways Act

Petition Details

We think council's around the country are not using their legal powers to fine people and remove graffiti and items that are unsafely attached to railings, lamposts and bridges that can cause dangerous circumstance if left unchecked.

Additional Information

Councils around the country should be pressured to remove graffiti and other physical items to ensure safety and wellbeing of the community. Any unauthorised congratulatory/birthday banners, advertising for events or buisness or flags of any kind should be removed to guarantee the safety of road users and passers by and neutralising any public nuisance and disturbance of the peace. Councils should also be pressured to fine the people responsible, many of which have broadcast the acts online.
