More Accessible Dementia Education Courses for Scotland
In 2014 there was almost 88,000 people with Dementia in Scotland which is an astounding figure.
Many people with dementia, and also their carers do not receive enough support or understanding in dementia care and how it affects everyday lives.
As someone passionate about a career as a dementia specialist nurse I was disheartened to find that in Scotland you can only gain education on Dementia through already working in the Health or Care Sector.
I would like to bring an equivalent of the accredited Principals of Dementia Course to Scotland to enable a greater understanding and education of dementia sooner, rather than later.
