Petition Action

Commit to a referendum in May 2028 asking the next government to rejoin the EU

Petition Details

Polls show that many people of the UK believe leaving the EU was a mistake. It is time politicians stopped ignoring the views of the people. The government needs to consult the people about what to do next.

Additional Information

A general election is not the time for a debate on the failure of Brexit as people vote based on other issues. But the economic damage being done to the country by Brexit cannot be ignored for another 5 years. By having a referendum before the next general election, politicians could have a clear instructions from the people on how we want the next government to address our relationship with our nearest neighbours and closest trading partners.
