Petition Action

Change the permitted time for fireworks

Petition Details

After several years of continuous fireworks during Diwali, often lasting until 4 or 5 a. m. on working days too - people have finally reached a breaking point.

Additional Information

After so many years of late-night Diwali fireworks, sometimes lasting until 5 in the morning during mid weeks (working week), people just have finally had enough. It is not only 1 day celebration a.k.a calendar. It starts week beforehand and last all night long. Every single day is like a war zone in 1st and 2nd world war. People can't have a good night sleep even though with an ear plug.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do, as there are already regulated times for fireworks. You can find out more about this here: www.gov.uk/fireworks-the-law

You may wish to start a new petition explaining clearly how you would like the current regulations to change.
