Petition Action

Require Digital ID law to include direct democracy for public approval of bills

Petition Details

If the Government introduces Digital ID, it should also include a direct democracy system allowing verified citizens to approve or reject any bill before Royal Assent, ensuring laws reflect the people’s will.

Additional Information

Digital ID would give citizens secure online verification. The same system could enable nationwide votes on legislation before it becomes law. This would modernise democracy, increase transparency, and ensure that Parliament and the public work together in shaping the UK’s laws.

Such a system would strengthen democratic participation, increase government transparency, and ensure that future laws reflect the direct will of the people.
