Petition Action

Legally require airports to be closed on Christmas Day for staff holiday

Petition Details

We want all airport and airline workers to be granted Christmas Day off or a full 24-hour operational pause across the aviation network

- A national pause in commercial airport operations on 25 December
- A guaranteed full-day closure allowing every airport worker at least one Christmas Day off

Additional Information

Airport and airline workers deserve Christmas Day off, just like other transport staff. Rail, bus, and ferry services stop, yet aviation continues, denying employees rest and family time. These workers keep the nation moving all year. The government should legislate to ensure a 24 hour pause on Christmas Day to promote fairness, wellbeing, and respect for those who serve the public every other day.
