Require Fine-Issuing Bodies to Let People Check Pending Fines and Appeal Sooner
Require all fine-issuing companies and organisations to provide a service where individuals can check if a fine is being processed, enabling prompt appeals or peace of mind immediately.
I often spend weeks worrying after parking or passing a speed camera—unsure if a technical error or a mistaken flash will lead to a fine. This uncertainty causes unnecessary stress that could easily be avoided. Fine-issuing organisations should be legally required to provide a service where people can check if a fine is pending. Such transparency would give peace of mind, reduce anxiety, and ensure people can promptly challenge any fines issued unfairly or in error.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
We are not clear whether this petition is asking for quicker processing of fines, or ability to check pending fines, and therefore it is not clear what action is being sought from the UK Government or Parliament.
You can start a new petition setting this out more clearly.
