Require companies to match board bonuses with employee-wide bonus distributions
Introduce a law requiring any company that awards a cash bonus or dividend to a board member or director to match that amount with a proportional bonus distributed across all employees.
This change would ensure company success is shared fairly by everyone. In our view, too often, company profits reward only executives while workers see little benefit. We believe sharing bonuses fairly would improve morale, retention, and productivity, while boosting spending and reducing wealth inequality. We think that when employees share in success, businesses thrive, communities grow, and the UK economy strengthens. This simple reform could create a fairer, more motivated and balanced workforce.
