Allow trained, licensed adults to carry personal protection spray
Permit vetted adults and frontline staff to lawfully carry non-lethal spray for self-defence in public spaces, including transport, schools, and places of worship, to prevent attacks and reduce injuries from rapid assaults.
There has been a troubling rise in unprovoked violent attacks in public spaces across the UK. In November 2025, a knife-wielding attacker injured several people on a train — one of many recent incidents where innocent civilians were left defenceless while waiting for help to arrive. Similar assaults in places of worship, schools, and public transport show how quickly violence can erupt and how long those first few minutes can feel before police intervene.
