Introduce self-defence lessons into the PE curriculum in all secondary schools
I think all secondary schools should teach basic self-defence within PE lessons so that students not only have the skills to protect themselves, but the discipline to use those skills when necessary.
I feel there is a growing concern within the UK of violence and personal safety. I believe it is vital that self-defence classes are incorporated into the secondary school P.E curriculum. Teaching young people basic self-defence skills could help them build confidence, improve awareness and learn how to protect themselves in dangerous situations. Not all parents can afford to send their children to such classes so this could make it accessible to everyone and not just those who can afford it.
