This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. The Government has not announced any plans to increase the rate of income tax (athough the income tax and NI threshold freeze has been extended).

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.

You may wish to sign the following petition which calls for a similar action:

Do not introduce any new taxes or increase any existing taxes
