Stop schools from using keylogger software on devices
We ask the Government to ban the use of keylogging or similar invasive monitoring software on school-issued devices. Keyloggers record everything a student types, including private messages and passwords not intended for others to view, which is a breach of their digital privacy.
Children and young people have a right to digital privacy. Schools should protect and encourage those rights, not compromise them.
Many schools do not have clear policies explaining where this information is stored, how long it is kept, whether it is ever reviewed, or who has access to it. This lack of transparency raises serious data protection concerns.
We believe the Government must step in to ensure that all education respects the students' dignity when online.
If you want to sign this petition (as opposed to merely discuss it), you need to do that on the government's e-Petitions website.
