Restrict the sale and use of fireworks to licensed public displays only
We ask the UK Government to prohibit the sale of fireworks to the general public. Fireworks should only be purchased, held, and used by licensed, trained, and regulated organisations for organised public displays.
Fireworks can cause injuries, fires, distress to people and animals, and create noise and chemical pollution. Emergency services face extra pressure and wildlife and pets are often harmed. Restricting fireworks to licensed, organised displays would reduce risks, protect communities and animals, and minimise environmental impact while still allowing celebrations.
