Commission an independent review of the BBC funding model

Petition Details

Commission an independent review of how the BBC is funded, examining alternative models such as voluntary subscription, advertising, or a hybrid public-service levy, to ensure fairness, transparency, and sustainability in the current digital age.

Additional Information

We believe the TV licence system was designed for a different era. Most households now use on-demand and online services, yet anyone who watches or records live TV must still pay the BBC licence fee. A review could modernise the system, uphold freedom of choice, and protect high broadcasting standards for future generations
