Permit off-duty police & (ex)military to carry batons for public safety

Petition Details

We request Parliament permit trained active and veteran military and police, whilst off-duty, to carry an authorised extendable baton for what we feel are the purposes of public safety and personal protection.

Additional Information

This petition stems from a concern that the UK has become more dangerous. We think allowing trained active and veteran military/police to carry an authorised baton whilst off-duty leverages their skills to increase public safety. We think these individuals can act responsibly, deter crime, and provide immediate protection for themselves and the public when facing threats.
