Petition Action

If a manifesto pledge is broken, it triggers an automatic general election.

Petition Details

A Government is elected based on a manifesto of what it intends to do and what it promises not to do. If any of those promises are broken or intend to be broken the government needs to call a general election with a new manifesto in order to carry on.

Additional Information

There is a deep feeling of mistrust in politics which needs to be addressed and restored. The manifesto must be treated as a contract with the electorate so that they are in the clear what government they are voting for. Manifestos should be detailed and as accurate as possible and the elected government must stand by that manifesto.
