Hold newspapers criminally liable for knowingly publishing false or inaccurate news

Additional Information

Newspaper should be free of censorship. However, they should be required to demonstrate that the information they provide has been properly researched. They should be able to prove to the regulator that appropriate steps have been taken to provide truthful accurate reporting. Where there are elements of speculation within the text this should be stated in a standardised format so that is clear that a story is not wholly based on proven facts.
