Make It Illegal to Refuse Entry to People with Assistance Dogs
Clearly prohibits any business, transport provider, or public venue from refusing entry to a person accompanied by an assistance dog.Requires staff training on the legal rights of assistance-dog handlers.Establishes meaningful penalties for organisations or drivers who discriminate
People who rely on assistance dogs deserve equal access to public spaces, transportation, and essential services. Assistance dogs provide vital support for individuals with disabilities, including mobility support, medical alert tasks, hearing assistance, and mental-health-related tasks.
Despite this, many people still face unlawful refusal of entry to shops, restaurants, taxis, rideshares, and other public places. These refusals cause humiliation, restrict independence,

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Refusing to allow access to people with assistance dogs is already illegal under the Equality Act 2010, which states that service providers must make reasonable adjustments to policies for disabled people, including amending ‘no dogs’ and ‘no pets’ policies to allow access for assistance dogs.
You may wish to start a new petition calling for the Government to review the implementation of this law and how people with assistance dogs are treated.
