Restrict the public wearing of face-concealing coverings such as balaclavas
We want the Government to restrict the public use of face-concealing coverings like balaclavas, except for legitimate reasons, to improve safety, reduce intimidation, and ensure people can be identified in public spaces.
Balaclavas are increasingly worn in public without need, causing fear, intimidation, and harming people’s sense of safety. They make it harder to identify individuals involved in crime or antisocial behaviour, reducing public confidence.
