Protect Travellers to Somaliland – Stop the Somalia E-Visa Requirement.
We ask the UK Government not to require the Somalia e-visa for travellers to Somaliland. Somaliland manages its own borders, the previous visa system was safe and effective, and travellers should not be forced to submit personal data or pay for two visas.
The Somalia e-visa puts travellers’ personal data at risk due to past breaches, which could be exploited by criminals or extremists. Somaliland manages its own borders, and travellers do not enter Somalia. The previous visa system was safe, secure, and effective. The e-visa also creates unnecessary costs, as each traveller would need to pay for two visas. Maintaining the old system protects security and ensures fair travel.
