Residents oppose government's attempt to control housing developments in England
Proposed housing developments must reside at the local level consistent with the principles of devolution and local democracy,
Decisions made far from the communities will not align with local priorities, infrastructure capabilities, or environmental considerations.
We urge the government to respect the principles of devolution and allow local councils to retain control over housing development decisions. By enabling communities to guide their own growth, we can ensure more harmonious and sustainable development that genuinely enriches the lives of local residents.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We are unsure what specific government proposal or policy you are opposing. For example, is it related to national housing targets, planning reforms, or overriding local plans?
You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
